Start with the device
Record the exact device model, screen size, thickness with case, charging connector and original adapter wattage. Bay dimensions must leave space for the connector and cable bend—not only the device body.
Choose the charging architecture
USB charging removes individual adapters and simplifies cable management. USB-C PD is ideal when devices negotiate a supported power profile. AC/PDU carts retain original adapters and provide the widest compatibility. Data-sync carts add host-to-device communication.
Tablet charging carts: PD18W or USB sync
Choose by the tablet’s charging requirements and IT workflow. ET32, ET48 and ET64 provide 32, 48 and 64 USB-C PD18W ports respectively. The current EN60 also provides PD18W, with 60 ports. OM configurations support USB charging with optional host-to-device data synchronization. Do not confuse bay count, total cart output and per-port wattage.
Chromebook charging carts: check the exact model
For USB-C Chromebooks, record the manufacturer’s required charging power and supported PD voltage profile before selecting a cart. EP36-B offers PD18W, 45W or 60W configurations for compatible devices up to 15.6 inches. A USB-C connector alone does not establish compatibility. EP30-A and EP45-A use original AC adapters instead; check device thickness with case, connector clearance and adapter storage.
When to specify a 60W fast charging cart
Use a 60W-per-port charging configuration when the device supports it and the project requires that power. On EP36-B, 36 PD bays configured at 60W each give a maximum total PD output of 2160W. The 18W and 45W options have different totals. A 60W charger does not force a device to charge at 60W, and charging time varies with battery state, device use, cable and accepted power profile. Confirm the input circuit and final specification before ordering.
Confirm site power
Total cart output is not the same as per-port power. Confirm destination voltage, frequency, plug standard and circuit capacity before ordering.
- 100–130V and 200–240V options may have different current limits
- High-power 45W/60W fleets need careful circuit planning
- Confirm local plug, breaker and compliance requirements
Plan the workflow
Consider where the cart will move, who will load it, how frequently devices cycle and whether status visibility, data sync, timed charging or adapter storage matters.
