USB-C PD charging carts: 18W vs 45W vs 60W

Choose a PD charging cart for compatible tablets, Chromebooks and laptops. Understand PD18W, 45W and 60W per-port options, QC and device compatibility.

What PD does

USB Power Delivery negotiates a supported voltage and current between charger and device. EnTrans PD platforms commonly offer profiles such as 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A, and on higher-power models up to 20V.

What QC does

QC-oriented USB-A platforms are a cost-effective choice for tablets and phones that charge around 5V/2.4A. They are not a substitute for a notebook that requires USB-C PD.

Choose by workload

PD18W suits many tablets and mobile devices. PD45W and PD60W are better for compatible laptops, but raise total system power and cable requirements.

  • Verify the device’s accepted PD profiles
  • Use certified cables rated for the required power
  • Do not size a cart from connector shape alone

Match the current EnTrans configuration

ET32, ET48, ET64 and the current EN60 are PD18W tablet charging carts, not 60W models. EP36-B offers 36 PD bays with 18W, 45W or 60W per-port options; its QC version has 48 bays at 12W. For a Chromebook charging cart, check the exact device’s accepted PD profile and required power, or use an AC/PDU cart with the original adapter. Confirm the selected version in your quote.
